Robert “Bob” Von Behren, 71, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO, formerly of New York Mills, MN, passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Bob was born January 23, 1941, to Dorothy (Clark) and Arthur Von Behren, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
Shortly after his high school graduation, Bob joined the U.S. Navy, to serve in the military from 1960 – 1964. He was stationed aboard the USS Towers DDG9. After serving his country, Bob settled down in Wadena, MN, where he raised his family. In 2010, he retired from the New York Mills school district, where Bob drove his school bus for over fifteen years. Bob will be remembered for reminiscing of the days-gone-by; especially of his days in the Navy, being very patriotic and driving the bus. More…
