Arthur A. Bazinet US Army, Ret. | d. September 30, 2009
Arthur Bazinet, 90, Kansas City, North passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at the North Kansas City Hospital. He was born December 5, 1918 in Fall River, MA to Alfred and Luciana Rivard Bazinet. He attended schools in Fall River.
Arthur was retired from the United States Army. He enlisted during World War II and served several tours of duty over the next 25 years. He retired from the Kansas City Health Department as a field supervisor in 1989 where he was employed for over 25 years. He enjoyed reading, cooking, growing tomatoes and spending time with his family. Arthur was very devoted to his family and his Catholic faith.
He married Dolores I. Gagnon on November 3, 1951 at the Notre Dame DeLourdes Catholic Church in Fall River. Mrs. Bazinet survives of the home. Additional survivors include a son, Mark A. Bazinet and wife Tracy of Kansas City, North; two grandchildren, Nathan Bazinet, Kansas City, North and Kyle Bazinet, Riverside, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 6th at St. Therese Catholic Church with Rev. Duc Nguyen as celebrant. A committal service will be held 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Leavenworth National Cemetery with full military honors under the auspices of the United States Army Funeral Honors Team.
Charles “Wayne” Billings | d. September 29, 2009
Wayne Billings, 67, Kansas City, North passed away unexpectedly September 29, 2009 at his home. He was born October 23, 1941 in Keokuk, Iowa to Albert and Dorothy Billings. They preceded him in death. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was employed for many years as a die-cutter at Van Guard Packaging. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races.
Survivors include a son, Brad Billings (Debbie) of Arlington, WA, a daughter, Michele Billings of Kansas City, North, two grandchildren; Cameron Billings of Arlington, WA and Mackenzie Billings of Kansas City, North, a long time companion Margaret Giordano of the home and her children, Jessicia Myers of Kansas City, MO and Paul Eicholz of Kansas City, MO; 3 brothers and 4 sisters in Keokuk, Iowa.
The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m. Monday, October 5th at the Meyers Funeral Chapel Northland 401 Main St. Parkville, Mo 64152. A private family committal service will take place in Iowa.
Virginia Lee Holloway | d. September 26, 2009

Virginia Lee Holloway, daughter of the late Roy and Gertrude Horton, was born on July 26, 1935 in Leavenworth, KS. She graduated from Leavenworth Senior High School in 1953.
In 1957, she married Thomas C. Holloway, Sr. and moved to Junction City, Kansas. The union was blessed with three children. While in Junction City, she was very active in the Pentecostal Church, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, and head of the Usher Board. She was also a member of the Northwestern District Council Usher Board for many years. After moving to Parkville, MO in 1992, she attended Greater Pentecostal Temple in Kansas City, KS where she was appointed head of the Usher Board.
She leaves to mourn; husband, Thomas C. Holloway, Sr.; two children, Cornelia R. Keesee (Spencer) of Parkville, MO and John R. Hollowayof Mission, KS; two grandchildren, Tyler S. and Morgan A. Kessee, both of Parkville, MO; two sisters, Thelma Lechter of Salina, KS and Janie Davis (Robert) of Leavenworth, KS and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Thomas C. Holloway, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 1, 2009 at the Pentecostal Church of Leavenworth with Elder Kenneth Neal officiating. A committal service will take place at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Leavenworth National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Memorials are suggested to the church. Gregory L. Kimsey | d. September 25, 2009
Gregory L. Kimsey, 33, Kansas City, North passed away September 25, 2009 at Liberty Hospital. He was born July 28, 1976 in Garden City, Kansas. He attended Park Hill High School. He enjoyed movies, baseball, playing video games and spending time with his son.
Survivors include his parents, Robert L. and Glenda Dormis Kimsey of Kansas City, North; his son, Izaak Kimsey of Kansas City, Mo; sister, Kelly Skarda and husband Tim of Overland Park, KS and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of life service will be held 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2009 at the Meyers Funeral Chapel Northland 401 Main St. Parkville, Mo 64152 with Chaplain Becky Franklin officiating. Cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Tri-County Mental Health and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Roger D. Clifton | d. September 16, 2009
Roger D. Clifton, 64, Gladstone, Mo passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at his home. He was born February 17, 1945 in Sutton, WV to George and Nellie Jackson Clifton. They preceded him in death. He attended schools in Sutton. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a proud member of the United States Navy Honor Guard Team that served for the funeral of President John F. Kennedy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Dale Clifton, three brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife Wanda of the home, a daughter, Angela; two step-daughters, Shirley and Misty; a sister, Betty; eight grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A committal service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery. Loyd Stripling, 81, Kansas City, MO passed away Wednesday, September 02, 2009 at the White Oak Manor in Gladstone. He was born October 19, 1927 in Red Springs, TX to Homer Carl and Pearl Buckalew Stripling.
Loyd retired from Ford Motor Co. in 1982 and lived in the Claycomo area.
Survivors include his wife Shirley of the home; a son, Kevin and wife Debra of Smithville, MO; a daughter, Terri Hoppis and husband Bill of Smithville, MO; four grandchildren, Angela Barba of Kansas City, MO, Cara Hoppis of Warrensburg, MO, Anthony Stripling, Smithville, MO and Devin Stripling of Smithville, MO.
