David Arnold Noland | January 31, 2008
David Arnold Noland passed away January 31, 2008 of natural causes. Cremation is planned. There will be a private memorial service at a future date.
David Medina | d. January 27, 2008
David Medina, 42, Kansas City, Missouri passed away January 27, 2008 at North Kansas City Hospital. Visitation will be held 5-7 pm Wednesday January 30, 2008 at Meyers Funeral Chapel Northland, Parkville, MO. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Medina will be cremated following the service with private family burial at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Emily Medina Education Fund or to the Juvenile Diabetes Association and may be left in care of the funeral home.
David was born August 25, 1965 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Ramon and Marie (Arroyo) Medina. He was a service advisor for various car dealerships. He was catholic by faith. He graduated from Leavenworth High School and attended UMKC and ITT Trade School. He was an avid tennis player having excelled while in high school. He enjoyed woodworking and auto mechanics.
He is survived by Wife, Dawn of the home; Daugther, Emily of the home, Sisters, Eleonor Clark, Kansas City, KS, and Maria Girot, McDonough, GA; Brother, Ramon Medina- Parkville, MO; Brother- in-law, Gregory Gentlemark, Kansas City, MO; Mother and Father-in-law, Gary & Sharon Gentlemark, Kansas City, MO; Nieces, Genevieve Scobee-Pouche Olathe, KS, Sarah Land, Olathe, KS, and Paulina Girot, McDonough, GA; Nephews, Tanner Clark, Kansas City, KS, and Noah Clark, Kansas City, KS; Great Niece, Joclyn Scobee, Olathe, KS; and Great Nephew, Austin Land, Olathe, KS.
Ruth Anne Lightbody | d. January 25, 2008
Ruth Anne Lightbody of Kansas City, MO passed away January 25, 2008. Ruth was born September 15, 1918 in Port Washington, Ohio to Lillian (Porcher) and William "Earl" Bond. She was a 1939 graduate of Port Washington High School and a 1941 graduate of a Cosmetology School in Columbus, Ohio. She was a homemaker most of her life and loved to travel.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Shelby Lee Lightbody (March of 2001), infant son Larry, parents, lillian and Earl Bond, Sister, Mary Schwendiman, brother, John Bond and grandson, Douglas Binando.
Ruth is survived by her three children, daughters, Sue Nichols and husband Ken, Kansas City, MO, Christina Binando and husband Ronald, Romeo, MI, and her son, William Lee Lightbody and wife Carol, New Philadelphia, OH. Five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Known to all as Grandma Ruth, she will be remembered for her love of travel and be missed by all who were gently touched by her presence.
A Memorial Service will be held in Ohio in the summer of 2008. Ruth will be buried beside her husband and infant son, at a family gravesite in Port Washington, Ohio. The family suggests any monetary remembrance be given to the charity of his or her choice.
Edgar (Ed) Frerick Henry Whitwer | d. January 27, 2008
Edgar (Ed) Frerick Henry Whitwer, 91, Kansas City, MO passed away January 27, 2008 at his home suurounded by his loving family. Ed was born December 13, 1916 in Tilden, Nbraska to Theodore and Bertha Cossman Whitwer. He spent the majority of his working years as a self employed home builder and farmer. As a young man he helped to build many of the plnes used in WWII. Mr. Whitwer was of the Lutheran Faith. Ed always had a smile and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Genia of the home, 1 daughter, Brenda and husband Jimmy of Exeter, NE, 1 son, Brent Whitwer and wife DeAnn, Fargo, ND, 2 step sons, Rawlie Sullivan and wife Mary Kay, albequrque, NM and MIchael Sullivan and wife Twila, Kansas City, KS, 1step daughter, Marilyn Street and husband Ronald, Kansas City, KS
Jim Gillette | d. January 23, 2008
Jim Gillette, 86, Billings, MT formerly of Parkville, MO passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2008. The Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 29 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Kansas City, MO with Rev. Michael Roach as celebrant. Mr. Gillette will be laid to rest at Eastslope Cemetery, Riverside, MO with military graveside services under the auspices of the United States Army Funeral Honors Program. The Rev. Patrick Tobin will lead the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Monday at the Meyers Funeral Chapel Northland with family visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m.
Richard H. (Dick) Hennessey | d. January 20, 2008
Richard H. (Dick) Hennessey, 84, Parkville, MO passed away Sunday, January 20, 2008 at his home. Graveside services and interment will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Lecompton, KS. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Thursday at the Meyers Funeral Chapel Northland. Mr. Hennessey will lie in state after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Legion Post #318 of Parkville and may be left in care of the funeral chapel.
Dick was born December 19, 1923 in Spencer, KS the son of Otis Edward and Rose Hennessey. They preceded him in death. He attended schools in Spencer and Topeka, KS. Dick was a veteran of the United States Army having served in WWII. Dick met and married Mary Grace Hamilton in 1947. They spent 57 wonderful years together. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2004. Dick had returned from Europe in early 1946, and came to Kansas City to join his father. It was shortly after this that he met Grace, his life long partner. Dick then started the Hennessey Construction Company that would prosper over the years and eventually include land development. Dick was a member of the American Legion Post #318 and V.F.W. Post #7356 both of Parkville.
In addition to his parents and wife, Dick was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary Hennessey Essex and an infant brother, baby Russell Hennessey. Survivors include a brother, George Hennessey of Parkville; a sister, Phyllis Mae Gardner of Halfway, MO and a special friend, Suzie Wethered of Gladstone, MO.
Mary Ann Hetro | d. January 17, 2008
Mary Ann Hetro, 69, Kansas City, Mo., passed away Thursday, January 17, 2008, at the North Kansas City Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Kansas City, with the Rev. Michael Roach as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kan. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, at the Meyers Funeral Chapel Northland, Parkville, Mo. Memorials are suggested to St. Therese Catholic Church and may be left in care of the funeral home.
Survivors include two sons, John Hetro and wife Donna, Aurora, Colo., and Joseph Hetro and wife Robin, Tampa, Fla.; a daughter, Linda Roberts and husband Raymond, Kansas City; a brother, Peter Prebish, Clifton, N.J.; three sisters, Ann Kaminski, Dupont, Pa., Catherine Yachna, Dupont, and Christine Cherney, Hazelton, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Mary Roberts, Johnathan Roberts, Cody Roberts, Joel Hetro, Katie Hetro, Blayne Hetro and Brennon Hetro.
Mabel Jane Augur | d. January 16, 2008
Mabel Jane Augur, 88, of Parkville, MO passed away on January 16, 2008 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Visitation will be held on January 19, 2008 from 10-11 AM at Meyers Funeral Chapel Northland. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Curry Cemetery in Mound City, KS following services.
Mabel was born on February 22, 1919 in Mound City, Kansas to Walter and Dola (Demott) Lanhan. She graduated from Lynn County High School. On April 16, 1943 she was united in marriage to Harold Augur in Kansas City, Missouri. Mabel was a member of Parkville Baptist Church.
Mrs. Augur is survived by her husband of 64 years Harold Augur of the home, children Dennis & Susan Augur of Millersburg, MO, Thomas & Renee Augur of Parkville, MO, Jane & Mitch Rodeberg of Overland Park, KS, Mark & Jackie Augur of Smithville, MO, a brother Charles Lanham of Mound City, KS, Seven Grandchildren and Six Great-Grandchildren.

Patricia Ellis Walker, 72, Tuttle, Okla., formerly of Lake Waukomis, Mo., passed away Sunday, January 13, 2008, at the Norman Regional Hospital, Norman, Okla. Survivors include a son, Richard and wife Margaret Walker of Lake Waulkomis; a daughter, Kathryn and husband Michael Ward, Tuttle; four grandchildren, Andrew and Devona Walker and Hallie and Kyle Ward; three great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Trey and Tessa Walker. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at the Meyers Funeral Chapel Northland, Parkville, Mo. Interment in the Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery, Independence, Mo. Visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral chapel. Memorials to the National Wildlife Association.
Michael V. Leone | d. January 3, 2008
Michael V. Leone, 61, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away on January 3, 2008, at KU Medical Center. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2008, at Meyers Funeral Chapel Northland. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
Michael was born on February 12, 1946, in Kansas City, Mo. He was the son of Andrew and Frances (Thompkins) Leone. He graduated from Blue Springs High School in 1964. Michael earned his Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from Columbia College and a Masters degree in History from Baker University. He served our country in many ways. He was in the Army during the Vietnam War, then later the Air Force and the National Guard. He served for over 16 years in the military. He was also a Chief of Police in Canton, MO and Gower, MO; and a Police Officer at Lake Waukomis, Weatherby Lake, Biscayne Bay, Florida, and Turnball, Texas. Michael was employed by the American Protective Services for 22 years, and then by the ATF until his retirement. He also worked at the Kansas City, MO Public Library. Michael was a member of the VFW and Army Steel Tigers 1/77th Armor Association.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances; niece, Valerie Niemeyer; and brother-in-law, Joe Niemeyer. Michael is survived by his: wife, Linda (Wilson) Leone of the home; stepsons: Tom Marquis of Platte City, Mo., Greg Marquis of Platte City, Mo.; father Andrew Leone of Lake Tapawingo, Mo.; sister Joan Niemeyer of Lake Tapawingo, Mo., and a host of nieces and nephews.
