Dana M. Zukauskas

Zukauskas, Dana Maria, 60, a resident of Olathe, KS and formerly of Chicago, IL passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014. Loving mother of Justin (Victoria) Merkys, Stephen (Melissa) Merkys, and the late Adam Merkys; proud  grandmother of Adam “Jack” Merkys and Grey Merkys; beloved aunt to John (Jenny) Zukauskas, Ingrid Coltman, Michael (Jennifer) Zukauskas, Lauren Coltman, and Ben Schamel; devoted great aunt to Lillianna, Katerina, and Ava Berg, Ryan and Emily Zukauskas; caring sister to Edward (Yun Im) Zukauskas and Laima (Tony) Schamel; survived by her first husband, Vito Merkys. She grew up in the Lithuanian neighborhood of Marquette Park in Chicago, IL and was known as an avid animal lover. Dana found her calling as a nurse working at WestGlen Endoscopy in Shawnee, KS for over nine years. A memorial service will be held on, Thursday, May 29 10 a.m. – noon at Meyers Funeral Chapels 1600 Main St., Blue Springs, Missouri. In lieu of flowers donations to Great Plains SPCA  5428 Antioch Drive, Merriam, Kansas, 66202 or call (913) 831-SPCA (7722).
