Frank Joseph Rick

Frank RickFrank Joseph Rick, 80 of Blue Springs, Mo. passed away January 23, 2012 at his home.  Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am Friday, January 27, 2012 at St. John Lalande Catholic Church.  Interment with full military honors at Mt. Washington Cemetery in Independence, Mo.   Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Thursday with a rosary at 7:00 pm. At Meyers Funeral Chapel 1600 W. Main Blue Springs, Mo.   Memorial contributions may be sent to American Cancer Society or VFW Post 6603.

Frank was born February 19, 1931 in Plattsburg, MO, the son of Carl and Katherin (Kessler) Rick. On July 25, 1953 he married Peggy L. Cox who survives of the home. He was a diesel mechanic for many years working for Greyhound, PIE, IML, and Auto Convoy.  Frank was active in many things to include, St. John Lalande Catholic Church, the Golden Agers, Blue Springs Elks Lodge 2509,VFW Post 6603, and Jackson County 5th District Ritual Team.  He was Past Chief of Staff and was acting Assistant Chief of Staff at the time of his death.  He was a proud veteran of the Korean War.  He was preceded in death by his son Mark A. Rick, four brothers Leon, Phil, Carl, and Bob.  Also, three sisters Frances, Kathryn, and Alberta.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years Peggy L. Rick of the home.  Sons Robert Rick and wife Patricia, Frank John Rick and wife Ruth Ann, daughter Kathleen Clements and husband Donald Ray, all of Blue Springs, Mo.  Son Galen F. Rick and wife Angela of Anchorage, Alaska.  Sisters Loretta Evanoff, Josephine Preston and Edith Johnson all of Kansas City, Mo. and Lena Waggner of Lyons, Kansas.  Brother Leo Rick of Flemington, Mo.  Nine Grandchildren and Nineteen Great-grandchildren.
