Miles Daniel Lombardi | d. March 29, 2009
Miles Daniel Lombardi infant son of Daniel and Sarah Lombardi passed away March 29, 2009 at Centerpoint Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Thursday April 2, 2009 at Lee’s Summit Cemetery.
Frances Jane Brock | d. March 24, 2009
Frances Jane Brock, 61, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away on March 24, 2009 at St. Luke’s Hospital. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Meyers Funeral Chapel.
Frances was born on April 3, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri to Frank and Vera (Prouty) Brock, who preceded her in death. She worked for many years at Independence City Power and Light as a secretary and worked her way up to being a computer specialist. Frances was a member of the Blue Springs Runners Club for over 20 years and loved to participate in marathons and triathlons. Frances loved to spend time with her grandchildren and was affectionately known as “Granny”. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be truly missed.

Jon Charlton Welch | d. March 21, 2009
Jon Charlton Welch, 48, Kansas City, MO passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 21, 2009. He was born August 31, 1960 in Kansas City to John R. “Jack” and Barbara S. Wendel Welch. Jon graduated from Raytown South High School in 1978 and attended Longview Community College.
Jon was a skilled automobile technician and self employed subcontractor in the construction business. He was a member of the Lutheran faith. Jon lived life to the fullest.
Survivors include his parents, Jack and Barbara Welch of Blue Springs, MO; two sons, Sean Wesley Welch of Kansas City, MO and Joshua Louis Welch of Maryville, MO; a daughter, Jonna Anne Welch of Boliver, MO; a brother, Cameron “Scott” Welch of Denver, CO and a sister, Kristi Ann Montgomery and her husband Dan of Salina, KS; three nephews, a niece and many cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Timothy Lutheran Church in Blue Springs with Rev. Ted Schubkegel officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation and may be left in care of the Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St. Blue Springs, MO 64015.
Jenny Henderson | d. March 19, 2009
Jenny Henderson, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 19, 2009.
Jenny was born August 14, 1957 in Kansas City, MO. Jenny was well known in the food service industry in Kansas City for past 30 years. She will be missed by family and the many friends who knew and loved her.
Jenny was preceded in death by her father Donald Allensworth. She is survived by her son, Thomas Comerford; her mother and stepfather, Peggy and Wes Condron; her sister, Brenda Mientka, and her brother, Brian Allensworth.
Visitation will be at 9:30am, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, on Monday, March 23 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 4313 SW Highway 7, Blue Springs, MO with Rev. James Healy presiding. Burial will be at Blue Springs Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Good Shepard Hospice or Jefferson Health Care.
John Mansur Clark | d. March 18, 2009
John Mansur Clark, 84, Blue Springs, Missouri passed away March 18, 2009.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Meyers Funeral Chapel. Memorial services will follow at 2:00 pm. Private family burial will be held at Cowgill Cemetery in Cowgill, Missouri at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ARARAT Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
John was born on August 22, 1924 in Cowgill, Missouri to Ellis and Myrle (Michael) Clark. He was united in marriage to Hazel L. Goe on February 27, 1943. He served his country from 1943-1945 during WWII at the Battle of the Bulge in the US Army Infantry. John was the owner, operator and president of Clark-Timmons Oil Company. He was a Methodist by faith as well as an active member of the ARARAT Shriners and Masons. John loved to play guitar and sing with country western bands for Cross-Trailers Square Dance group. He also was an avid fisherman and quail hunter. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel in 1996; son, Thomas B. Clark; sister, Marguarite Beck; brother, Mike Clark; and son-in-law, Mick Timmons.

Milton Clay Little | d. March 10, 2009
Milton Clay Little, 70, of Deepwater, MO, formerly of Blue Springs, MO, passed away on March 10, 2009 at Centerpoint Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 9:30-11:30 am on Friday, March 13, 2009 at St. John LaLande Catholic Church. Scripture service will be held at 11:30 am on Friday with Father James Taranto presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made care of Meyers Funeral Chapel.
Clay was born on January 1, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri to Clay W. and Ivanette (Wainwright) Little, who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage on April 4, 1964 to Judith Marie (Stafford). To this union, three children were born. Clay served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War as a radar technician. For 31 years, Clay served Blue Springs as a Police Officer, retiring in 1995 as a Full-Time Sergeant and continued his service until 1999 in the Police Reserves. He was Catholic by faith and was a past member of St. John LaLande Catholic Church.
Clay is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy of the home; children, Bill Little & wife, Jenny of Raytown, MO; Peggy Hoff & husband, Harold of Lowry City, MO; and Bob Little & wife, Anita of Raytown, MO; sisters, Mary Ann Lamb of Bauxite, AR and Peggy Cromley of Carrollton, MO; and seven grandchildren.

Helen Radine Friedrich, 88, passed away at Trumal Lake Manor Nursing Home, Lowry, MO. March 6, 2009. Graveside Service at 11 am Thursday March 26 at Oakland Cemetery Independence, MO.
Eddie Wayne Smith | d. March 5, 2009
Eddie Wayne Smith, 45, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away on March 5, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at St. John LaLande Catholic Church with Rev. Ron Elliott as celebrant. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Monday, March 9, 2009 at the church (805 NW R.D. Mize Blue Springs, MO). Burial will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested care of Meyers Funeral Chapel to be set aside for his children’s education.
Eddie was born on June 19, 1963 in Kansas City, Missouri to Gary W. and Judy E. (Hankins) Smith. He graduated from Blue Springs High School in 1981 and attended two years at SMSU where he was a member of Sigma-Phi-Epsilon. He was united in marriage to Karen Ann Rushin on July 11, 1987, and to this union, two beautiful children were born. Eddie was employed at A2MG Inc. for over 25 years where he earned his position as a Senior Project Manager. Eddie was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local Union #2. In his spare time, he loved to coach his children’s various sport teams, go fishing, and play pool, darts, and especially poker. He was an avid sports buff followed the Chiefs, Royals, and MU very closely. Eddie was a cherished husband, son, father, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, and uncle. He will be missed by all his family, friends, and poker buddies.
Eddie leaves behind his wife, Karen of 21 years, children, Kelsie and Keelie Smith of the home; parents, Gary and Judy Smith of Blue Springs, MO; sister, Janice Schaefer & husband Jerry of Blue Springs, MO and their children Amanda, Angela, and Jeremy; brother, Danny Smith & wife, Jocelyn of Blue Springs, MO and their son, Dylan; mother and father-in-law, Bob and Becky Rushin of Springfield, MO; sister-in-laws, Cindy Ferguson & husband, Gary and children, Brandon (Amanda), Kimberly, Justin, and Zachary; Vicki Rushin; Janet Crews & husband, Chris and their children Lindsey and Levi; and one great-nephew, Kayden.
Dorothy M. White | d. March 5, 2009
Dorothy M. White, 96, of Blue Springs, Missouri, formerly of Massillon, OH, passed away on March 5, 2009. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Monday, March 9, 2009 at Meyers Funeral Chapel. Burial will be held at St. Mary Cemetery in Massillon, Ohio. The family suggests memorial contributions to Odyssey Hospice (800 E 101st Terr #150 Kansas City, MO 64131)
Dorothy was born on September 4, 1912 in Akron, Ohio to Ernest and Amelia (Warth) Sonnhalter, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Lloyd A. White in April of 1942 in Massillon, Ohio. In 1988, she moved with her son to Blue Springs and enjoyed living the rest of her life near her grandchildren, Daniel and Kiersten. Dorothy enjoyed knitting, sewing, and quilting at Vesper Hall.

Herbert Leroy Byrd | d. March 2, 2009
Herbert Leroy Byrd, 73, of Independence, MO passed away on March 2, 2009 at the VA Hospital Kansas City, MO. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Meyers Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 6, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri where full military honors will be presented. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Herb was born March 26, 1935 in Chelsea, OK to Clarence and LaDonna (Turley) Byrd. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Jason. He was the owner and operator of catering and food industry shops in the downtown Kansas City area and most recently was a salesman at hardware stores. He was a Presbyterian by faith. He enjoyed bass fishing and hunting, and he loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Kenneth Byrd, and a sister Juanita Byrd.
