Barbara Anstis Stanley | d. August 29, 2008
Barbara Anstis Stanley, 86, of Independence, Missouri passed away on August 29, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Meyers Funeral Chapel. Private family services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Barbara and her husband, Donald.
Barbara was born on May 14, 1922 in Haverhill, MA to Earle Franklin and Lucy Anstis Brown. She attended Chamberlin School of Fashion Design and worked in the Fashion Industry in Boston, MA for many years. On January 30, 1954, she was united in marriage to Donald Burton Stanley, who preceded her in death in 1996. Barbara was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her garden.

Kirt Dwight Dieleman, 46, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away on August 27, 2008 at his home. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Timothy Lutheran Church in Blue Springs, Missouri. Mr. Dieleman will be cremated under the direction of Meyers Funeral Chapel.

Ruth Hill, 88, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away on August 27, 2008 at The Groves. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 29, 2008 at Blue Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Ruth was born on March 5, 1920 in Chautauqua, KS to Martin and Nettie Edwards. She was united in marriage to Eugene William Hill on October 14, 1940 in Salina, Kansas. Together they owned and operated Hills Shoe Store in Winfield, Kansas for 22 years. She was Methodist by faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eugene Hill; brothers, Martin and Leon Edwards; sister, Margarite Atherton, and son-in-law, David Smith.

Sharon Lee Patterson, 60, Blue Springs, MO passed away at her home on August 17, 2008.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Wednesday August 20, 2008 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Fleming Park Ward 1416 S.W. 19th Street Blue Springs, MO
Service will be held 2 pm Thursday August 21, 2008 at the church. Internment will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery.

Sharon was born July 28, 1948 in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Albert and Deloris (Delozier) Dishong. She was a mother, wife, and grandmother first of all, but later in life worked at Dr. Bahr’s dental office as a receptionist. She loved to spend time with her family and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a member of the LDS Church- Fleming Park Ward.
She was preceded in death by her father Albert Leroy Dishong, father in law James Owen Patterson and daughter in law Terra Amanda Patterson.

Delbert T. Whaley “Boppy”, 95, of Blue Springs, MO passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at his home. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Meyers Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Meyers Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 12:00 noon. Full military honors will be presented. Memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice.
Delbert was born on May 11, 1913 in Havelock, Nebraska to the late Thomas and Nellie (DeJarnette) Whaley. He served as a boiler man in WWII and in the Korean War. He was a member of the USS Missouri Association. He retired in 1982 from the VA Hospital as a master plumber. Delbert enjoyed meeting with the breakfast club at Hy-Vee in Blue Springs and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Clara (Broaddus) Whaley and later by Mabel (Pearson) Whaley; brother, Mayo Whaley, and daughter, Diana Marriott.

Joseph was born May 16, 1928 to James and Katrina (Hansen) Crowder. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was one of the first Assistant Fire Chiefs for Independence, MO Fire Department many years ago. Joseph was a member of the RLDS, Firefighters Local, and was a Mason.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 8 brothers and sisters.

Stephen Craig Willis | d. August 11, 2008
Stephen Craig Willis, 38, of Grain Valley, Missouri passed away on August 11, 2008. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Stephen was born on June 16, 1970 in Independence, Missouri to Richard and Judith (Tackett) Willis. He graduated from Grain Valley High School in 1988 and went on to receive his Bachelors Degree in Aeronautical Sciences with a minor in Psychology. Stephen cherished sharing his love of flying with his older brother, which was also his best friend. He was very close to his grandmother, mom, and dad. He was always at the front of the line when someone needed help. We will miss him with all our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.

Edward Eugene Burnett, age 54 passed away Friday August 1 2008. In Eldorado Springs, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at the Meyers Funeral Chapel 1600 W. Main Blue Springs, Missouri 816-229-3276. Rosary will be at 7:00 pm at the Chapel. Mr. Burnett will be cremated under the direction of Meyers Funeral Chapel. Inurnment in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
He was born October 6 1953 to John P and Nadine Burnett in Kansas City Missouri. His father preceded him in death. Edward was a Painter for Residential and Commercial properties. He was of the Catholic faith. Edward enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Ralph Dean Marshall | d. August 1, 2008
Ralph Dean Marshall, Sr. 66, Oak Grove, MO passed away August 1, 2008 at his residence due to complications from a rare neuromuscular disease. Ralph was born October 6, 1941 in Warrensburg, MO to the parents of Lonnie and Mabel Marshall.
He was a graduate of William Chrisman High School in Independence, MO. He married Norma Jeanne Burford on June 29, 1968. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary earlier this year.
Ralph spent his working years as a Dry Wall Contractor. He was known to many as the best in the Kansas City area. He had a strong faith in God and was a member of the Lake Lotawana Community United Methodist Church. He was a juried Artist, one of the best in the state. He was a member of the organization “Best of Missouri Hands.” Ralph loved his family, church family and his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters. In addition to his wife Norma, he is survived by 2 sons, Ralph Dean (Pete) Marshall, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Fountain, CO and Jonathan Christian Marshall and his wife Stephanie of Spicewood, TX, 1 brother, 3 sisters, and 5 grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan, Emma, Taylor and Ty.
A celebration of Ralph’s Life will be 11:00a.m. Tuesday at the Lake Lotawana Community United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve McQueen officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services at the church. Private family burial will held at the Marshfield Cemetery in Marshfield, MO. Memorial contributions are suggested to the church.
