Elvira I. Davis, 97, of Blue Springs, MO, formally of Independence, MO, passed away on October 26, 2007 at St. Mary’s Manor. Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 29, 2007 at Mound Grove Cemetery at 12:00 noon.
Elvira was born on December 17, 1909 in Independence, MO to George and Anna Arnold. She attended and graduated from William Crisman high school in 1925. Elvira worked for years at Macy’s in the record department. She loved music and spent her wages she earned there on buying records she loved and still has. Previously, she had worked at Barbie Frocks making and selling baby clothes. Elvira loved living on a farm and enjoyed looking out the windows watching wildlife and appreciating nature. She had attended the RLDS Restoration Branch church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard F. Davis in 1977; daughter, Patricia Klien in 1997; and grandson, Robin Davis in 1978.

Kristin Marie Yesenosky, 30, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away on October 23, 2007 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM on Monday, October 29, 2007 at Meyers Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at St. Robert’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Blue Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society or to Camp Quality (P.O Box 19 Union Star, MO 64494) or the Diabetes Association.
Kristin was born on October 3, 1977 to Dennis Lee and Patricia (Yeakle) Yesenosky in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Blue Springs South high school in 1996 and went on to get her degree from Northwest Missouri State. Kristin was the biggest Chief’s fan you ever met—she loved to watch all their games and especially cheered on Gonzales. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Her laugh was known by so many and could brighten up anybody’s worst day. Kristin was an organ donor.
She was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church and in the past, was involved with the youth group.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Joseph Yesenosky in 1997 and Bertha Yesenosky in 1986; and maternal grandfather, Charles Yeakle in 1999.

Maternal Grandmother: Helen Yeakle of Baltimore, MD Sandra Elizabeth Doyon, 59, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away on October 22, 2007 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM on Saturday October 27, 2007 at Meyers Funeral Chapel with funeral services at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Perdee Cemetery in Grain Valley, MO.
Sandra was born on March 28, 1948 in Winchester, Massachusetts to Francis V. and Martha V. (Henderson) Gallella. She attended and graduated from Reading Memorial High school and worked in sales for many years. She attended First Baptist Church of Blue Springs and was baptized recently!
She was preceded in death by her father.

Joe E. Dittmer, 72, of Blue Springs, MO passed away on October 18, 2007 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Monday, October 22, 2007 at First Baptist Church of Blue Springs. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at Woods Chapel United Methodist Church in Lee’s Summit, MO. Interment will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Joe’s name for a Girl’s Fast Pitch Softball Scholarship or a Real Estate Entrepreneurial scholarship care of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation.
Joe was born on March 30, 1935 in Sweet Springs, Missouri to Walter and Mabel (Wehrs) Dittmer. He graduated from Concordia high school. From 1952-1960 he was an oil distributor for Skelly Oil Company. From 1961 to 1965 he worked for American Family Insurance as District Manager in Northeast Missouri. In 1965 he founded Gaslight Real Estate Corp. and in 1968 he founded Gaslight Mortgage Company. Then in 1969, he developed and formed Gaslight Insurance Agency. He was named Kansas City’s largest Metro Realtor in 1973 and in 1977 he was named Realtor of the Year by Kansas City Metro Board of Realtors. After selling Gaslight Real Estate in 1985 he was primarily involved in commercial real estate and development. Joe served as the Vice-Chairman for the City of Independence Planning Commission from 1971-1974. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce in Kansas City, MO, Independence, MO, and Raytown, MO. He was also a member of the Kansas City Board of Realtors, Eastern Jackson County Board of Realtors, Springfield Missouri Board of Realtors, and Johnson County Kansas Board of Realtors. Joe has been on the board of United Missouri Bank since 1978. He was inducted into the Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame. He was a former member of the United Church of Christ, member of First Baptist Church of Blue Springs, and attended Woods Chapel United Methodist Church. Joe has been an essential part of the Emma, Independence, Blue Springs, Columbia, and Lee’s Summit communities.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Gieseke) Dittmer in 1999; a son, Jeff Dittmer in 1980; brother, Willard Dittmer; brother-in-law, Leland Holsten; and two infant sisters.

Visitation will be held from 10am-11am on Tuesday, October 16 at Meyers Funeral Chapel with funeral services directly following. Burial will take place at Blue Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Chester was born on July 5, 1933 in Newport, Arkansas to Marvin and Sarah (Rudd) Hicks. He was employed by Alton Box Co. in Blue Springs for 28 years and then was an independent contractor for the Kansas City Star for 22 years, retiring in 1999. Chester and his wife, Norma, lived and raised their children on an acreage off of Pink Hill Road for 43 years. He had a passion for music and loved to play his guitar with J.D. Grinder whenever possible.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas L. Hicks in 1984.

Chester was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by many. The family would also like to give special thanks to the people of Pleasant Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center for the loving care he received while he was there.
Kenna Gray, 51, Blue Springs, MO passed away October 8, 2007 at the University of Kansas Hospital.

Kenna was born August 29, 1956 in Independence, MO to Kenneth and Janice (Brinkoetter) Andrews. She was an insurance claims supervisor. She was a member of St. Roberts Bellarmine Catholic Church. She was active in her church and was very family oriented. She cherished her children and loved shopping with her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents Mary & Clarence Brinkoetter and Lucille & Kenneth Skinner.
