Lillian Francis Zwahlen of Grain Valley, Missouri went into the arms of Jesus on November 30, 2007. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Monday, December 3, 2007 at St. Robert Bellarmine with Mass of Christian burial at 7:30 PM. Interment will take place at Blue Springs Cemetery at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 4, 2007. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lillian Francis Zwahlen Library Fund % Community America Credit Union in Blue Springs, MO.

Lillian was born on March 1, 2006 in Blue Springs, Missouri to Craig and Sara (Francis) Zwahlen. She loved everybody she saw, and they all adored her. She had a special way about her that brightened each person’s day. Lillian loved to read books and had many that she treasured.

John Treuthart, Lee’s Summit, MO, formerly of Quincy, Illinois, and Hannibal, Missouri, passed away November 26, 2007, following a lengthy illness.     
John was born May 14, 1925, in Keokuk, Iowa, to Herschel E. and Mabel Treuthart of Carthage, Illinois.   He graduated from Carthage High School in 1943, and served in the U.S.Navy from 1943 to 1946, with an honorable discharge after attaining the rank of Lieutenant.  He married Faye M. Kleopfer in 1945.   In 1949, John received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University, where he was elected to Chi Epsilon, civil engineering honorary scholastic fraternity. 
John served as County Superintendent of Highways of Adams County, Illinois, for 18 years.  He was president of the Illinois Association of Superintendents of Highways in 1960. John was married to Priscilla (Meadows) O’Connor in1968 and worked as an engineer in concrete construction in Rockford, IL, and as District Engineer for the DeKalb (IL) Sanitary District.  John retired June 1, 1984, and moved to Hannibal, Missouri.  John moved to Lee’s Summit, Missouri, in  2005.
John was registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois, and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hannibal, the Hannibal Elks Lodge # 1198, the Masonic Lodge Hancock # 20 of Carthage, IL, the Quincy, IL, Consistory, and the Ansar Shrine Club of Springfield ,IL. He served as President of the Quincy Shrine Club in 1961.  
John was preceded in death by parents, his wife, Priscilla, and seven brothers and sisters.  He is survived by one sister, one brother, children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2007, from 1-2 pm at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home, Hannibal, MO, with graveside services to follow.  In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for the Shriner’s Hospitals for Crippled Children in care of James O’Donnell Funeral Home, Hannibal, MO, or Meyers Funeral Chapel, Blue Springs, MO.

 

Gary R. Dieleman, 52, of Blue Springs, MO passed away on November 23, 2007 at Truman Medical Center East. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at Meyers Funeral Chapel from 6-8 PM. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Timothy Lutheran Church at 10:30 AM. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Timothy Lutheran Church or to the American Heart Association.

Gary was born on June 23, 1955 in Independence, MO to Russell and Beatrice Dieleman. He worked as a supervisor for Truman Medical Center East for several years. Gary was also a D.J. on the side. He loved music, especially oldies. Gary also loved his cars—particularly Mustangs! Gary was a member of Timothy Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell, and an infant brother, Randy Dieleman.

Theodore E. Hetzler, 72, of Warsaw, MO passed away on November 14, 2007 in Osage Beach, MO. Visitation will be held from 1-3 PM on Monday, November 19, 2007 at Meyers Funeral Chapel. Graveside services commence after the visitation at 3:00PM at Blue Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation (P.O. Box 11454 Alexandria, VA 22312).

Ted was born on October 14, 1935 in Soldier, KS to Walter and Helen (Chrisman) Hetzler. He graduated from Wyandotte high school in 1953 and attended Kansas City Community College for two years. After college, he married the love of his life, Lynn Suttles. Theodore owned and operated many Meat Distributing companies. Before retirement, Theodore was employed by the Blue Springs School District, working at Franklin Smith Elementary school. He was affectionately known as Mr. Ted. Ted was an avid stamp and baseball card collector. He was a past member of the Blue Springs Shriners, past JCI Senator, and Mason. He was Lutheran by faith. Ted cherished the time spent with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son; Steven C. Hetzler in 1996.

Roscoe R. Emily, 77, of Independence, MO passed away November 18, 2007 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Private graveside services will be held at Buckner Hill Cemetery.

Roscoe was born on April 14, 1930 in Iron Mountain, MO to Joseph A. and Florence L. Emily. Roscoe was a mechanic by trade. He loved all his family deeply. He celebrated every family gathering from his heart.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jeanne Emily.

Richard Lee Hodkins, age 78, left this world to be with his Lord on November 15, 2007. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, May 19, 1929. Dick was employed with AT&T for 40 years. He was an avid golfer at Bent Oak Golf Club, loved to fish, bowl, travel and especially enjoyed being with family and friends and was a true Royals and Chiefs fan.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janet Lee Hodkins

Betty A. Richfield, 80, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away on November 12, 2007 at her home. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 from 5-7 PM at Meyers Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 15, 2007 also at Meyers Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow funeral services at Blue Springs Cemetery.

Betty was born on December 6, 1926 in Kansas City, MO to William and Margie Shupp. She had worked for John Knox Village as a receptionist and as a past City Clerk for Lake Tapawingo. Betty was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was Presbyterian by faith.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill and Phil Shupp; sisters, Margie Lang and Virginia Ann Logan.

Johnny Clay Casper, 38, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away on November 8, 2007 at Centerpoint Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Timothy Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Autism Society of America (7910 Woodmont Avenue, Suite 300 Bethesda, MD 20814-3067) in memory of Johnny.

Johnny was born on October 22, 1969 in Athens, GA to Emory and Frances (Borders) Casper. He grew up near Atlanta, Georgia and he received his bachelor’s degree from Berry College in Rome, GA. Johnny then went on to obtain his master’s degree in Criminology from Indiana State University. He met his wife, Melissa, at Berry College and they were married in St. Louis on June 19, 1993. Johnny worked as a clerk for Jackson County for over 7 years.

Johnny was a man with a lot of love to share. He would do anything in the world for his children and his family. He had a passion for education and encouraged others to achieve as much as they could. Johnny also had a love of books, movies and music.

Scott Allen Fletcher became one of God’s ambassadors of peace and love on May 12, 1975. He went to be one of God’s angels after accomplishing his assigned role on November 6, 2007.

He leaves behind many, many wonderful friends and loved ones-everyone who’s life he touched was enriched. In his life, he was able to accomplish so much with his caring attitude and loving smile. He was a true testament of God’s understanding, love and patience.

He now leads his family and friends on the path to God’s great eternal life his parents-Bill & Jeanine Fletcher; brothers & families-Keith, Kim, Brandon and Kaitlin Fletcher; Mark, Lisa, Sara and Nathan Fletcher. He was blessed with wonderful uncles, aunts, and their families-Bob & Beverly Riley, Dean & Sonni Bedsworth, Ruth Bechel, John & Martha Fletcher, Harold & Ruby Fletcher, Joe Lee & Carol Fletcher, Raymond & Pat Fletcher, and Bob & Linda Fletcher.
