Patsie Joyce Eddington, 74, of Blue Springs, MO went from the loving arms of her family into the loving and waiting arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 29, 2007. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2007 at 3:30 PM at Meyers Funeral Chapel.

Patsie was born on April 17, 1933 to Charles and Bonnie Doty in Clarksville, AR. She was a member of the graduating class of 1950 from Clarksville High School. She worked for Fogelman Industries in Memphis, TN and she was an award winning Librarian in Polkville, MS. She retired after marrying Bob Eddington and moved to Blue Springs.

Patsie loved life and made life special for everyone she met. She touched the lives and searched for ways to make life better for her family and friends. She had a special gift of seeing the needs of others. She let the Lord lead her in ways to meet the needs of even strangers. She had a generous and loving heart and she will be missed by everyone who knew her. Her family will miss her everyday.

She was preceded in death by her loving father, Charles Doty and beloved sister, Betsie Joyce Doty.

She is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Eddington. Patsie also leaves behind her Daughter: Jan Share of Polkville, MS
Son: Mike Flint of Hackett, AR and his wife, Melissa
Patsie is loved and cherished by her five grandchildren, Will, Allen-Michael, Ashley, Lindsay, and Trey.
She is also survived by her mother, Bonnie Doty and brother, Charles and his wife, Mary and their children
After marrying Bob, she adopted his family and made each one feel special.

 

David Randolph Ruby (1920-2007) died peacefully 19 December 2007.

He is survived by his son, Scott Ruby of Washington, D.c.; his daughter, Beth Weyeneth and son-in-law Mark Weyeneth of Lee’s Summit; two grandsons Mark Medeiros and Airman First-Class Lance Weyeneth; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation is planned at Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs, Friday 21 December, 7-8pm. Burial is scheduled for Saturday 22 December at 10am at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Lung Association.

 

Georgie “Myrt” Barnard, 66, of Blue Springs, MO passed away on December 19, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be on Friday, December 21, 2007 from 5-7 at Meyers Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 22, 2007 also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Blue Springs Cemetery.

Myrt was born on May 19, 1941 in Swain, AR to Albert and Golda (Cowan) Reed. She attended and graduated from Deer high school in 1959. Myrt was employed as a custodian for the Blue Springs School District for many years. She enjoyed wildlife, fishing, gardening, and shopping.

She was preceded in death by a brother; Odis Reed and her husband Powell Dolan Barnard.

Major Donald L. Schoenlein, 84, of Lake Lotawana, MO passed away on December 19, 2007. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Meyers Funeral Chapel 1600 West Main Blue Springs, Missouri 64015 816-229-3276 with a memorial service at 11 AM. Inurnment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #499.

Donald was born on July 23, 1923 in Portland, IN to Earl and Lena (Limbacher) Schoenlein. He graduated from Portland High School and went on to Purdue University to study mathematics and chemistry. After two years of college, he entered into the Army Air Corps.  Donald was a retired Major from the US Air Force, member of the Army Air Corps in WWII, was shot down behind enemy lines and was the only survivor in the B24 Liberator. Donald was a POW in Germany for 11 months during WWII and was ranking officer at the camp. During his time served, he received many accommodations including two Air Medals and three Purple Hearts. After the war, he was employed as a certified gemologist and watchmaker. Donald was active in the American Legion Post #499, and the Elks Lodge #2508.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne Schoenlein; daughter, Diana Bantz; brother, Bill Schoenlein; sister, Mid Neare; and first wife, Gene Robbins.

Mary T. Hough, 84, of Blue Springs, MO passed away on December 14, 2007 at her home. Visitation will be held from 9-10:15 AM on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 with a rosary at 10:15 AM. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 AM, December 19, 2007 at Meyers Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army National Headquarters (P.O. Box 269  Alexandria, VA  22313).

 

Olen O. Wilkinson passed away on December 12, 2007 at the Blue Springs Care Center. Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs from 10-11:45 AM on Monday, December 17, 2007 with Masonic Services at 11:45 AM. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place at Blue Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner Children’s Hospital via Ararat Shrine, KCMO.

He was born on October 2, 1917 near Chapel Hill, MO to W.M. “Dick” and Lillian Wilkinson. Olen was a veteran of the Army Air Corps, serving in the South Pacific Theater. From 1946-1949 he was co-owner and operator with his brother, Glen, of a service station and café in Lone Jack, MO. In 1949, he moved to Blue Springs, MO and was employed as a sales representative for Chevrolet automobiles and trucks, retiring in 1989. Olen had been a member in good standing for over 50 years of the East Gate Lodge of KCMO, Wyoming Chapter in Pleasant Hill, MO, The Palestine Commandary of Independence, MO, Scottish Rite Body, and the Ararat Shrine—president in 1975. From 1965-1999, he was an active member of the Blue Springs Police Reserves department and was appointed Commander, attaining the rank of Captain in 1981. In 1997 he was selected as Blue Spring’s Citizen of the year and was honored by the Truman Heartland Community Association at the Truman Library for his many years of volunteer work. Olen was a devoted father, loving grandfather and great-grandfather, and president of the Wilkinson Family Association for seventeen years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Marjorie E. Lefholz-Wilkinson, an infant sister, and two brothers, Glen and Wilbur.

Christopher David Burns, 37, of Kingsville, MO, formally of Independence, MO passed away on December 11, 2007. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Meyers Funeral Chapel.

Chris was born on February 28, 1970 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Fort Osage high school in1988. Chris was a member of UAW Local #249 and was Baptist by faith. He loved his nieces and nephews very much and would do anything for them. Chris loved to walk and be with his friends.

John “Greg” Kendrick, 51, of Independence, MO passed away on December 10, 2007 at his home. Visitation will be held from 1-2 PM on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Meyers Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM at Blue Springs Cemetery following the visitation.

Greg was born on August 16, 1956 in Independence, MO to John P. and Margie E. (Brown) Kendrick. He graduated from Blue Springs high school in 1974. After high school he was employed by Armco Steel for many years in the store room as a crane operator. He spent many years working all over Kansas City painting houses, apartments, and hotels.  Greg was Christian by faith. He enjoyed fishing and loved playing guitars, especially the bass.

Joseph R. Gordon, 85, passed away Saturday December 8, 2007 at Golden Years Health Center, Harrisonville, MO.

Graveside service will be held at 10 am Thursday December 13, 2007 at Dover Cemetery, Dover, MO.

Leah Agnes Showman, 81, Lake Lotowana, Missouri passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital December 5, 2007.

Leah was born November 2, 1926 in Liverpool, England. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John Lalande Catholic Church and attended St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions to help defray funeral costs.

She was preceded in death by her sister and husband.

Thomas Morgan Chapman, 84, of Blue Springs, MO, formerly of Ozark, MO, passed away on December 2, 2007 at St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Hopedale Baptist Church in Ozark, MO. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Burial will take place at Hopedale Baptist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hopedale Baptist Cemetery Fund.

Thomas was born on February 4, 1923 in Springfield, MO to Huber E. and Celia (Boyd) Chapman. He graduated from SW Missouri State College and was co-owner and operator of FRMCHM Chemical Corporation. He was a member of Duncan Road Baptist Church of Blue Springs. Thomas was a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran.
